Hero CoreDefense
Twelve heroes, four players, waves without end, one flame.
In the kingdom’s last citadel, the Brasa Eterna holds back the Névoa Rubra. You and up to three friends each pick a hero and defend the Brasa against waves of creatures without end: the first twenty end with the Devorador, and then he returns every ten, bigger, until the Brasa falls. Items, recipes, a shop, and limited gold, as in the classic hero defense maps; self-contained matches with no permanent progression, where the score is the number of waves survived.
Already playable end to end in closed tests over Steam. No release date and no Steam page yet; when there is news, it shows up here first.
- 12 heroes
- 1–4 players
- 7 creature types
- 4 difficulties
- 54 items
The LastFlame.
A kingdom that has already lost almost everything, one citadel, and the fire that still holds back the dark.
-
The Brasa Eterna
The sacred fire at the heart of the citadel. It has one hundred points of life, sits at the end of the two routes the Mist advances along and of the middle path that leaves the central portal. It cannot be repaired; only the reward on the ruins square gives back five points. Every creature that reaches it takes one point; an elite takes five. If the Brasa goes out, the match is over.
-
The Névoa Rubra
The corruption swallowing the world, sending its creatures in waves: beasts that charge in close, cultists that attack from afar, fast specters and, with each wave, something new. From the third wave on come the elites, bigger and marked by the Mist.
-
The Devorador
The boss. He arrives after the twentieth wave to put out the Brasa, summons creatures of the Mist during the fight, and walks immune between one clash and the next. As long as the team holds him far from the arena, the Brasa is safe. Once beaten, he comes back, bigger, every ten waves of endless mode.
One match, from the lobby to the Devorador.
Waves without end: the first twenty, calibrated, end with the Devorador; after that, the match goes on until the Brasa falls.
-
01
Lobby
A friends-only Steam lobby, up to four. Everyone readies up, the host picks the difficulty and starts.
-
02
Hero selection
One minute to choose among twelve heroes, grouped by role or by attribute. Whoever confirms first keeps the hero; anyone who does not choose gets a random one.
-
03
The waves
Fifty-five creatures in the first wave and six more with every wave, in six groups that alternate between the two routes and, from the fifth wave on, one more group through the central portal, with six seconds of warning. From the third wave on, a random reward appears on the ruins square for thirty seconds: whoever steps on it takes it for the whole team. Between waves, twenty seconds to prepare, or less if everyone readies up.
-
04
The Devorador
After the twentieth wave, the boss walks down the middle path to the stone arena at the center of the map. There he strikes the Brasa every eight seconds; stunning him during the wind-up cancels the blow.
-
05
Until the Brasa falls
With the Devorador beaten, the waves keep coming, stronger each time, and he returns every ten waves, bigger. There is no victory and no chosen ending: the match ends when the Brasa falls, and the score is the number of waves survived, with a personal best per player count and difficulty.
- 20 waves before the first boss
- 10 waves between boss returns
- 55 creatures in the first wave
- 30 hero levels
- 4 difficulties
- 100 Brasa health points
Twelve heroes,two per role.
Six roles, two heroes in each, two per attribute: Strength, Agility, and Intelligence. Every hero has two active abilities, one passive, and one ultimate, and levels up to thirty: eighteen points complete the abilities, and the rest become attributes.

Names, abilities, and numbers are those of the game in development and may change before release. Ability names are descriptive translations; in the game they are in Portuguese.
The creaturesof the Mist.
Seven types that enter one by one over the waves, the elites, and the boss.
-
Beast
Melee. The Mist’s front line: half of every wave comes this way.
-
Cultist
Attacks from a distance with a spell of magic damage and stays behind the beasts.
-
Specter
Fast and fragile. Runs the route to reach the Brasa before the others.
-
Armored
Covered in obsidian plates: its armor cuts almost half of all physical damage, but magic abilities go through whole.
-
Mist Shaman
Heals the creatures around it every three seconds. The target the team has to hunt first.
-
Exploder
Runs at a hero, lights its fuse and blows up. A stun or a freeze holds the blast; afterwards, the ground burns.
-
Splitter
A stone golem with violet crystals. When it dies, it splits into four faster spawn.
-
The Devorador
The final boss. Immune while he walks, he summons twenty creatures per fight and turns furious below half his life.
Elites, from the third wave on: four times the life and twice the damage of a common creature, one in every twelve enemies.
Items, recipes,and Mythics.
The shop only sells common items and recipes; everything above that is assembled, as in Warcraft III.
Fifty-four items in five rarities. Each Rare goes into three Legendaries, and each Legendary into two Mythics, to force choices: one match’s gold buys about six Legendaries, not all of them.
With the recipe and the parts in your inventory, the item assembles itself. You can also buy an assembled item in one go, as in Dota 2: the shop buys what is missing and charges only the difference.
A Legendary inherits the passives of the two Rares in its recipe. A Mythic, above it, inherits the whole recipe, carries the active of its base Legendary, and only exists through the recipes bosses leave behind: it is where gold goes in endless mode, together with the upgrades (+1, +2…) that only Mythics receive at the shop.
- Common
- 13 items
- bought ready-made in the shop
- Uncommon
- 9 items
- two Commons and a recipe
- Rare
- 8 items
- two Uncommons and a recipe; carries a passive
- Legendary
- 12 items
- two Rares and a recipe; inherits both their passives
- Mythic
- 12 items
- two Legendaries and a mythic recipe, which only bosses leave behind
Made to beplayed together.
Hard on purpose and tuned for four people: it asks for a balanced team, with a tank, a support, and damage, and for strategy.

01
On Steam, with friends
A lobby of up to four, by invite or through “Join game” in the friends list, and a peer-to-peer connection over Steam’s relay. The game requires Steam.
-
02
Whoever drops comes back
The host runs the match; whoever leaves has five minutes to return to the same hero, with gold, items, and position. The host pauses and resumes when the group needs it.
-
03
Four difficulties
Easy, Normal, Hard, and Nightmare, chosen in the lobby. Gold, experience, and drops do not change: what changes is the pressure of the waves.
-
04
Nothing permanent
Every match starts from zero, with no progression between matches. Gold and experience go to everyone near the kill: a team split across the two routes collects as much as a team that stays together.
The gameas it stands.

Where the gamestands today.
Hero Core Defense runs end to end: the endless waves, the returning Devorador, the twelve heroes, the fifty-four items, the interface, and the audio are all in the game and have been tested in closed matches over Steam, on different machines. Still to come: the four-player playtest, the Steam page, and everything that comes with it. No date yet.
